Top Rock Rushes - The Log Process

The log Process has changed somewhat since canon teamed up with apple to release a plug in for the Final Cut Log and transfer menu. Although it takes a little more time that just copying the video files from the CF card, its far more time effective in the end. The plugin converts the files into Prores format from the H264 they natively store as on the Canon 7D. Using this plugin and going through this process effectively allows you to edit smoothly with no issues that the native format can sometimes produce.



I found the Plugin posed on the Cinema5D blog my go too place for all things HDSLR. The plugin process works exavtaly the same as the log and transfer menu in Final Cut so there was no issue learning a new interface, its just a matter of giving it some time to convert the footage which is a pain in the butt, but is well worth it in the end

on a less techie geeky note, the footage is looking superb, i only wish i could show you ome stills, but im not allowed due to that whole film festival premier crap! The second its online i will be selling it to he world!
